World won't end in 2012: Nasa

WASHINGTON - THE world is not coming to an end on December 21, 2012, the US space agency insisted on Monday in a rare campaign to dispel widespread rumors fueled by the Internet and a new Hollywood movie.

The latest big screen offering from Sony Picture, 2012, arrives in theaters on Friday, with a US$200 million (S$277 million) production about the end of the world supposedly based on myths backed by the Mayan calendar.

The doomsday scenario revolves around claims that the end of time will come as an obscure Planet X - or Nibiru - heads toward or collides with Earth.

The mysterious planet was supposedly discovered by the Sumerians, according to claims by pseudo-scientists, paranormal activity enthusiasts and Internet theorists.

Some websites accuse Nasa of concealing the truth on the wayward planet's existence, but the US space agency denounced such stories as an 'Internet hoax.' 'There is no factual basis for these claims,' Nasa said in a question-and-answer posting on its website.

If such a collision were real 'astronomers would have been tracking it for at least the past decade, and it would be visible by now to the naked eye,' it added. 'Obviously, it does not exist.' 'Credible scientists worldwide know of no threat associated with 2012,' it insisted, adding that after all, 'our planet has been getting along just fine for more than four billion years.'

Min. 5 ppl & Max. 6 ppl(only 1 group.)!In total, there will be a total of 7 groups of 5 and 1 groups of 6, unless one 1I student join us next year!

Confirm latest by Dec 09' ! I apologised if there is any dispute over the group with 6 people. But since, Mr Koh have decided to use Scissor-Paper-Stone to determine who take up the group with the 6 people and Qing Yu's group wins, so his group will be taking up the group with 6 people. Sry for the inconvenience made, but since Mr Koh is the teacher, his says decides on the arrangement!

Today Mr Koh give bak report book, not exciting de lor, never announce Top 1 to 10... Btw, Darren is Top 1 in both CLASS and LEVEL! Let's give him some applause bahh. Hope that next year Top 1 will also come from our class too. Hahas. Top 2 goes to Ming Hao and he's in the 3rd position in level! Congratulations to all! Good News is that everyone is 1 H is promoted to 2H! Hais, Mr Koh talks abt History project for Year 2010 next year. He's still taking us next year! -.- Heard that the project occupies 35% of your CA2 marks! I bet the project is hard to do as we need to do interview, filming so on and so forth! But he choose me as History rap for next year? Hais, I think next year Chairman will still be Xing Yu bahh or will changed? IDK so do you. Hahas.
